Taking place on Saturday 1st (10am – 6pm) and Sunday 2nd (10am – 4pm) December, the Fayre will be held on the Queen Victoria Green, with extra stalls and attractions at Tynemouth Station. Santa will naturally be spreading some cheer on both days, while his reindeer will be flying in on Saturday for those who would like to help feed them.
As well as choirs singing, mulled wine to savour and hot chestnuts to keep away the chill there will be a host of food and gift stalls, face painting, Christmas trees and decorations and lots more. Among the attractions will be a pony and trap ride and craft sessions, including Christmas garland workshops.
Sunday will also see Taffy Thomas, England’s leading storyteller, at the Priory Theatre performing two shows of ‘Favourite Tales from the Tailcoat’. When Taffy dons this unique piece of textile art, the magic begins – will you be the one to choose a story from the coat? Performances are at 12 noon and 3pm and tickets at £4 per person are available from Fezziwigs on Percy Park Road and Porters Coffee House at Tynemouth Station.
The Fayre has been arranged by Tynemouth Business Forum and organiser Cilena Easton from Fezziwigs says: “We’re delighted to be able to put on this popular event again and it’s good to see so many locals working together to make sure the weekend is a success”.
